Growth Program

This program’s objective is to provide avenues of speciality to individuals that may not otherwise have the opportunity to gain those specialities, certifications or know to pursue them. The Growth Program recruits graduates of the BY Plus program and like programs, to provide certifications in lead remediation, asbestos abatement, and weatherization-shell team work as well as the Certified Age in Place Specialist certification.

Home Repairs for Good hires up to two graduates who have completed certifications for hourly technician roles. Once on staff, the individuals are provided the opportunity to connect with our partners in additional resources for growth—financial counseling, budget building and banking basics, help in career development and planning their own personal career goals. Part of the recruitment process is identifying those who have the goal of becoming an entrepreneur in the construction field but need foundational planning or who wanted to be more specialized in construction or a trade but need more guidance on a direction or further support in workplace etiquette to pursue a more long-term career.

These technicians are a part of the team to support Home Repairs for Good in earned income by completing jobs for other organizations in the areas of lead remediation, asbestos abatement and shell-team work for weatherization. As this program grows, we hope to grow in our certification offerings and work opportunities.​
