BY Plus

BY Plus is a free training program that provides trainees a basic introduction to careers in construction. The program is put on by Indiana Construction Roundtable. Read more about their certifications and training curriculum here.

Home Repairs for Good provides work experience for the BY Plus trainees with home repair needs in the community. Indiana Construction Roundtable Foundation staff and local community centers work with students for other wrap around services needed for the trainees to be successful throughout the program. These services include basic skills training, financial coaching, transportation assistance, legal counseling provided by Indianapolis Legal Aid, and more.

Upon concluding the BY Plus training, trainees are giving job placement assistance and a hiring fair with ICRF employment partners throughout Central Indiana.

“Equitable access to a job with a career path is key to addressing poverty. Through this collaboration of four organizations, we’re able to provide opportunities and pathways for people looking for meaningful employment while also making needed repairs to the homes of many of our community’s seniors, enabling them to safely age in place with dignity. We at CICF are honored and thrilled to work with our partners in the community—including our residents—and to have the support of Lilly Endowment to further advance equity to all.”
